The UDO project was started in 1996 because I needed a documentation in several formats. UDO is the abbreviation of 'Universal Document' which is used for UDO's proprietary ASCII based text format and the converter software for generating several destination formats like
- HTML
- WinHelp
- RTF
- LaTeX
- Texinfo
... and many more.
Open Source
UDO is published under the GNU General Public Licence and is available for free including the source code.
UDO had been shareware. In the last year the time I had needed to maintain UDO wasn't available. To publish the source code of UDO shall save the future of an interresting and useful project.
http://www.udo-open-source.org
... is a URL you should know. From now on you can find there all the information about UDO, the current source code, the current documentation, tips, FAQ's and the latest binaries for several operating systems.
